About the role:
In Samsaras Business Technology Core IT team we work to deliver awesome systems support and experiences that enable our teams to be as impactful as possible. As a member of the team youll be in charge of owning the technology and processes that enable our people to do their best work. We are responsible for identifying designing implementing and supporting the applications to create a streamlined experience for Samsarians. As a Manager IT Engineering on the team you will be leading the small but growing India IT Engineering team. This role will understand technical architecture and technical delivery of a wide variety of solutions along with process engineering & automation. You will be executing on strategic & missioncritical initiatives technology assessments and endtoend solution delivery by partnering with your US IT leadership team.

In this role you will:
- Supervise a small but growing IT engineering team in India overseeing critical IT automation AI and DevOps projects
- Supervise the evaluation innovation development & implementation of any variety of internal SaaS Engineering automation systems/AI projects geared to produce efficiency at scale
- Provide formal performance management support and review to all direct India reports but share dotted line daytoday supervisory capacity with US leadership
- Serve as the domain expert on implementation management and support of Business technology products and IT applications
- Develop metrics and dashboards to provide business leadership with meaningful operational/performance metrics and status reports
- Stay uptodate with industry trends and emerging technologies evaluating their potential impact on the organizations application landscape
- Manage technical requirements gathering technical gap analysis and contribute to backlog grooming
- Integrate and implement best practices and DevOps methodologies in every step of the IT engineering process
- Champion role model and embed Samsaras cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success Build for the Long Term Adopt a Growth Mindset Be Inclusive Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
Minimum requirements for the role:
- A Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology engineering or related field
- 10 years of experience in an IT Engineering role with at least 3 years of managing small teams
- 6 years experience in software development and infrastructure
- Related experience in architecture design development and implementation of highly scalable highvolume software systems applications and major SaaS solutions
- Strong experience working with APIs in Javascript Python or Go
- Strong expertise in AWS and GCP cloud platforms
- Exposure to scale in a SaaSfirst IT environment (Google Workspace Okta Slack Zoom Github Zendesk etc)
- Strong experience with Terraform
- Experience with containerization tools including Docker
- Solid understanding of source code versioning and exposure to Git GitHub
- Must be detail oriented selforganized be committed to quality and capable of tracking multiple work streams simultaneously
- Ability to work in a fastchanging dynamic and agile environment including the ability to manage time and maintain an excellent work ethic
- Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
An ideal candidate also has:
- Developed and managed applications in a team environment
- Experience with Atlassian suite (Jira Confluence)
- Expertise with SIEM Splunk service
- Expertise in corporate networking and email infrastructure CCNP knowledge
- Experience with Terraform
