Position Title:Office Assistant
Rate of Pay:$17.00 per hour
Position Purpose:
Performs a variety of clerical and office duties in support of the Carnival Sales. This is a temporary seasonal position not to exceed 122 days.
- Answers and responds to or forwards telephone calls.
- Assists walkin traffic to the office including department employees other organizational employees business partners guests and/or patrons.
- Dispatch other department employees in response to inquiries and requests from other departments or the public.
- Maintains a variety of department records and files in an organized manner and makes copies as necessary.
- Performs computer data input and generates reports as requested.
- Tracks attendance of department employees and serves as the department timekeeper.
- Files and shreds documents as requested.
- May schedule meetings and coordinate the department calendar.
- May be required to perform other duties as directed requested or assigned.

Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Good computer skills and demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Word Outlook and Excel is necessary.
- Must be able to type at least 35 words per minute.
- Effective communicator fast learner punctual and service oriented.
- Ability to successfully handle and prioritize multiple tasks required.
- Excellent ability to work well under pressure and with others is a must.
- Excellent teamwork and problem solving skills are required.
- Ability to work outside the normal business day/week as demanded by events and programs.
Preferences:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) may be helpful.

Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet however louder noise levels may be experienced during outdoor events and when in larger event buildings.
