The Role

Luminai is seeking a creative highimpact and versatile leader to build and lead our Accounting function. As our first inhouse Accounting hire youll play a pivotal role in shaping our financial infrastructure from the ground up. Youll design and implement scalable processes oversee daytoday accounting operations and help ensure the companys longterm financial health. This is a unique opportunity to make a foundational impact at a fastgrowing AI startup. The ideal candidate combines deep accounting expertise with a strong track record of success in unstructured fastpaced environments.

Location:

This is a hybrid position. Our team is inoffice 3 days a week (Mon Tue Thu) in San Mateo California.

What Youll Do:

• Provide technical accounting guidance especially around revenue recognition for evolving business models and initiatives

• Lead monthend quarterend and yearend close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting

• Oversee general ledger activities including journal entries and account reconciliations

• Prepare internal reports and ad hoc financial analyses to support strategic decisionmaking

• Manage federal state and local tax compliance as well as other regulatory filings

• Develop and execute a roadmap for financial systems including ERP implementation

• Lead future audits and act as the primary liaison with external auditors

• Build and mentor a highperforming accounting team as the company scales

What Were Looking For:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required

• 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance operations ideally in highgrowth SaaS or AI environments

• Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred

• Deep technical accounting knowledge including ASC 606 and SaaS metrics

• Experience owning and scaling core accounting operationsincluding policies systems and auditsin dynamic and fastpaced settings

• Strong understanding of ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and financial infrastructure; direct ERP implementation experience strongly preferred

• Clear concise communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to distill complex topics for varied audiences

• Proven ability to lead through ambiguity make sound decisions and drive initiatives to completion

• Track record of building mentoring and scaling accounting teams

• Passion for technology startups and working crossfunctionally in highgrowth environments
