1About the position:
The Materials Engineer is part of the Materials Equipment and Quality team within Chevrons ENGINE Center and is responsible for providing materials & corrosion engineering research and development services to Chevron operating companies affiliates & capital projects worldwide to deploy innovative and fitforpurpose materials corrosion coatings related solutions.
Key responsibilities:
Support development of R&D project proposals and gain alignment with Business Units.
Track and report R&D project status milestones and spend.
Analyze trends of equipment condition reliability and failure data to identify R&D opportunities
Support Enterprise 3Dprinting effort.
Predict corrosion rates in upstream and downstream process environments using corrosion modeling and simulation tools.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgy Corrosion Materials Engineering Material Science Chemistry or related engineering/scientific discipline from a recognized (AICTE) University.
Skilled competency level in Demonstrated experience with data analysis physical metallurgy electrochemistry and/or damage mechanisms.
Fundamental competency level Background in fixed equipment (piping equipment pipelines heat exchangers tanks) integrity management.
Fundamental competency level in Prior project management experience across the entire R&D cycle from ideation to deployment.
Preferred Qualifications:
10 years of industrial postgraduate engineering experience with 7 years in an R&D role.
Masters degree in Corrosion Metallurgy Materials Engineering Material Science and/or Chemistry from a recognized (AICTE) University.
Handson field experience at an oil & gas operating facility
Professional Engineering registration
Experience with data analytics and digital tools
Project management certifications
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1:30pm to 10:30pm.
