Job Description
Job Summary: HACC Central Pennsylvanias Community College invites applicants for a fulltime tenuretrack position in Mechatronics beginning August 2024. This is a schoolyear position scheduled to work midAugust to midMay. There is potential to teach additional courses each semester and during the summer term for pay in addition to the base salary.
The position will be based on HACCs Harrisburg Campus and may also teach courses oncampus at other HACC campus locations.
This position will teach courses covering a variety of topics including theory and handson skills to prepare students for roles as technicians who can maintain repair and manage mechanical electrical electronic fluid power and automation control systems.
Fulltime faculty are responsible for teaching student academic advising professional development and service to the college and the department which includes serving on committees participating in assessment of curriculum and supporting equityminded student success initiatives. HACC seeks faculty who are committed to putting equal rights practices into action in and out of the classroom.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in industrial automation mechatronics electrical engineering technology mechanical engineering or closely related field and two years of industry experience.*
*Bachelors degree must be completed with 5 years of date of employment.
*Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Willingness to teach day evening weekend and on or offcampus classes.

Job Specific Task List:
- Teaches assigned Mechatronics courses. (Standard)
- Participates in curriculum development and maintenance. (Standard)
- Provides academic support and advising to students including establishing and maintaining a schedule of office hours. (Standard)
- Participates in college governance by serving on joint ad hoc faculty campus division and discipline committees. (Standard)
- Participates in the recruitment and hiring of new faculty through participation on assigned search committees. (Standard)
- Participates in college and community service activities. (Standard)
- Participates in professional growth activities and maintains awareness of new trends and developments within areas of instructional responsibility. (Standard)
- Coordinate plan organize and instruct academic courses according to approved course syllabus. (Essential)
- Provide high quality and consistent academic instruction to students. (Essential)
- Provided high quality academic support and advising to students. (Essential)
- Keep students informed and updated concerning course content requirements evaluation procedures and attendance requirements. (Essential)
- Keep students informed about their progress through prompt grading of papers and other work. (Essential)
- Maintain accurate and complete scholastic records including attendance records. (Essential)
- Maintain scheduled office hours. (Essential)
- Ensure that assigned classes are held as scheduled. (Essential)
- Organize and maintain class work and assignments. (Essential)
