Job Description

Position Summary
The SpeechLanguage Pathologist (SLP) works under the direction and supervision of the Director of ISE and will work with elementary school students in screening evaluating diagnosing and treating disorders of speech and language communication. These disorders of speech and language communication may include difficulties with articulation fluency voice verbal and written language auditory comprehension and cognition communication. This position is fulltime and will develop and execute specific components of a speech and language program as specified in an individualized educational plan (IEP) as well as support the larger Rocketship community.

4 days per week.

Pay: ranges from 75k85k based on years of experience.
Location: 2431 South 10th Street Milwaukee WI 53215

    • Address students speech production vocal production and language needs through speech therapy.
    • Deliver direct services via prereferral interventions; monitor student progress in prereferral interventions Tier 1 and Tier 2.
    • Document and collect data on all consultation sessions and provide regular assessments.
    • Conduct student screenings and/or assessments of language voice fluency articulation or hearing.
    • Develop and implement high quality legally compliant IEPs.
    • Maintain student files and treatment logs in an organized manner to include as well as provide appropriate documentation to the interdisciplinary team.
    • Communicate with the program manager with regards to any changes in status problems or intent to change any aspect of the education program.
    • Attend and participate in meetings as required by the (team staff and IEP meetings).
    • Develop instructional materials and evaluate commercially available material for treatment.
    • Keep current on the latest development in the field of speech therapy by attending professional seminars reading current literature and participating in professional organizations as assigned.
    • Provide professional development support to school staff and families.
    • Manage time efficiently follow schedule and inform appropriate personnel of departures from schedule.
$65000 $85500 a year
Requirements
Valid SpeechLanguage Pathology Services Credential; Masters Degree required. Bilingual in English and Spanish (strongly preferred but not required). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to engage and work closely with awide range of staff members (educators school administrators senior management. Commitment and passion for Rocketships mission vision and goals. Thrive in a fastpaced dynamic work environment. Ability to demonstrate the skills necessary for fulfilling the job responsibilities of a SpeechLanguage Pathologist.


Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers handle or feel objects tools or controls. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally climb ladders. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high.
