Software engineering of our platform and supporting capabilities is a critical function in bringing the associated business goals to life enabled by bestinclass technology patterns and practices. Fullstack engineers in our technology team function primary in support of surfacing information and functions to our users but regularly lean in across a variety of business functions and architecture components to build data services develop user interfaces and prototype new innovative technology functions.
In addition to the above some specific success criteria in this role:
Show an understanding of the patterns expected in scalable healthcare software systems but with a desire to push the boundaries of what effective technology can improve upon.
Maintain awareness of evolving technology standards and compliance mandates and looks to ensure implications to technology delivery are incorporated where appropriate.
Bring a solid basis of experience in building modern software products and enjoy working together with a team of engineers to bring optimal solutions to production in a costefficient manner.
What youll do
Collaborate with product architecture and engineering peers to incorporate functional & nonfunctional requirements into the implementation of software using industrialgrade patterns and practices
Collaborate with engineering stakeholders on delivery approaches that balance implementation constraints with ideal design models
Participate in discovery and intake for new initiatives for solution feasibility and implementation guidance / constraints
Develop rapid software prototypes as preliminary method for prooforconcept validation of new/novel capabilities
Develop complex software systems using modern framework and development patterns
Participate in ongoing refinement of patterns and practices for Software engineering as part of optimized software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Offer guidance and support to engineering peers through code reviews pair programming and knowledgesharing sessions fostering continuous learning and professional growth.
About you
8 years working handon in the implementation of moderatetolarge software systems as a software engineer
Deep knowledge & experience of client/server languages including Python TypeScript/JavaScript and popular web SPA (React Vue Angular) and server frameworks/platforms (ex: FastAPI Express other)
Experience with various API/IDL service contract models (Swagger/OpenAPI AsyncAPI etc.
Experience in development of software across enterprise system patterns (data exchange API/integration business services integration middleware etc.
Strong experience in development of data access/API patterns (RESTful services gRPC/tRPC etc.
Experience with data service event publishing and push models and frameworks (ex: Webhook PubSubHubbub HTTP Push WebSockets Serversent events etc.
Experience with nonfunctional enablers for scalable resilient services (ex: front caching readthrough cache indexing HTTP cache headers etc.
Deep knowledge of stateless and stateful service designs and common supporting components
Proven experience in designing/developing systems with compliance/regulatory obligations (HIPAA HITRUST SOC ISO FDA etc.
Deep familiarity of cloudbased platform hosting models and associated managed services usage
Experience with infrastructureascode (IaC) and build pipelines (CI/CD) and deployment & release patterns
Familiarity with container orchestration tools (K8S Docker containerd AWSECR etc.
Familiarity with software design patterns relevant to 3tier web applications (web>services>data)
Proven ability to quickly build proofofconcept solutions to validate solution designs and experiment with emerging technologies.
Experience setting up architecture review processes/guardrails to maintain standards and consistency across multiple teams and projects.
Demonstrated experience guiding and coaching engineering teams including conducting code reviews and offering technical mentorship.

In compliance with New York Citys Wage Transparency Law the annual salary wage range for NYCbased applicants is: $175000 $185000. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range including but not limited to external market benchmark data geographic location and years of experience sought/required. Progyny offers a total compensation package comprised of base salary cash bonus and equity.
