A Brief Overview
Reporting to the Director Infrastructure & Operations Smith School of Business the Audio Visual Analyst is the subject matter expert responsible for the installation maintenance troubleshooting and support of complex AV systems and infrastructure including control systems projectors cameras lecture capture audio processors microphones and video conferencing solutions. The incumbent will develop solutions to recurring issues while ensuring the reliability of the technology is varying settings including classrooms meeting rooms student spaces and event spaces at both Kingston and Toronto locations. This position maintains close working relationships with the Smith Video Conference Services team and Central Queens Digital Classrooms team. The Audio Visual Analyst completes frequent training and obtains the latest industry certifications from Crestron Netgear AVIXA QSC CompTIA etc.
The Audio Visual Analyst is responsible for researching emerging AudioVisual technologies and will propose and implement system upgrades or integrations to improve teaching and learning experiences. The incumbent leads the selection and adoption of multimedia educational technologies and provides ongoing training to staff and faculty on available technologies and their use. This position is responsible for developing detailed technical documentation and managing asset/inventory records.
This position develops and documents standard operating procedures to support the use of online educational technologies. This position provides ongoing training to other multimedia development staff on the available technologies and their use. This position recommends evaluates and leads implementation of streaming infrastructure upgrades. This position also establishes and implements video infrastructure maintenance routines.
