Staff Accountant
A growing and dynamic organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its finance team. This position is based in Cranston RI and plays a key role in supporting the companys financial operations through accurate and timely accounting and analysis.
Job Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting
Execute daytoday general accounting tasks including journal entries and account reconciliations in alignment with established accounting standards and procedures.
Manage monthend closing activities such as preparing and reviewing reconciliations and journal entries related to cash prepaid expenses accrued expenses and other financial areas.
Conduct financial analysis on various balance sheet and income statement accounts to aid business decisionmaking.
Prepare detailed supporting schedules for external auditors during quarterly and yearend audits.
Account and Cost Analysis
Review purchase order cost confirmations from vendors and address discrepancies using internal product information management systems.
Evaluate existing accounting procedures and recommend enhancements to support the companys growth and scaling initiatives.
Collaborate on special projects and departmental initiatives as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting.
13 years of progressive accounting experience in a fastpaced environment.
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Effective communicator with the ability to work across all levels and disciplines of an organization.
Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
Highly organized and deadlinedriven with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting systems such as Great Plains (Dynamics GP) is a plus.
