Warehouse Driver Class A OR Class B - 1st shift

Position Summary

This is a firstshift warehouse role that pays $20.00 to 22.50/hr. A CDL A or B is required for this role.

The Switch Driver is responsible for driving the trailers in and out of the yard/warehouse and securing loads of product to prepare the trailers for shipment. They should possess adequate communication skills to understand written and spoken instructions excellent safety awareness and the ability to perform manual labor. They need to be able to operate a semitruck with a trailer comfortably and must be able to back trailers up to dock doors often with other trailers on either side of the dock.

Shift: Monday Friday 7AM 3:30PM

Salary: $20$22.50/hr.

Essential Responsibilities

• Drives a tractortrailer or straight truck in a safe manner to the staging area for loading.
• Perform inspection of the tractor and trailer per company and DOT policies and regulations.
• Check the trailer to ensure all product and packing slips are on proper loads.
• Opens and closes curtains and secures loads by ratcheting down straps on trailers to facilitate loading products for transport.
• Communicates any issues with the tractor/trailer to Supervisor.
• Follows all safety rules and operates equipment in a safetyconscious manner.
• May assist in duties within the warehouse.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications (Required)

• Effectively perform all essential functions including physical requirements
• Acceptable motor vehicle record.
• CDL Class A or B certification
• Basic math interpersonal/team and reasoning skills.
• Use of proper PPE and companyapproved tools while remaining aware of possible hazards and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Ability to read understand and carry out written procedures and standard work instructions.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Flexibility in schedule able to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to learn product inventory and warehouse layout and operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year preferred commercial driving experience.
• Previous experience in a distribution or manufacturing facility.

• No travel requirements.
