Description

Position Summary
We are looking for a teammate who loves working in a school environment and wants to be part of a dynamic team! This role ensures our students have access to nutritional meals to support the development of healthy minds and bodies. The food server provider will support the food service program for KIPP Stockton Elementary School. This is a parttime role 24 hours/week) reporting to the Director of School Operations.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience:
  • Experience working in a school preferred
  • Experience working with preparing and serving meals

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food Handler certification or ability to obtain certification

Knowledge/skills required:
  • Ability to learn comprehend and implement health and safety guidelines around food handling and distribution
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize competing responsibilities as well as respond to emergencies in a calm and efficient manner
  • Successful experience working as an effective member of a team
  • Respect for children and adults from various cultures and backgrounds flexibility patience
  • Comfortable working in a fastpaced environment that is subject to interruptions
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to problemsolve independently

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Prepares food for distribution: breakfast lunch and snack for approx. 250 students in Elementary and Middle School settings
  • Operating Kitchen equipment (warmer oven etc.
  • Coordinate track and provide feedback to the food vendor on the number of meals served and the required
  • Ability to follow the health and safety protocols to ensure food is safely served
  • Maintains records/documents for health inspection
  • Supports in the setup and cleanup of all materials and areas impacted by breakfast and lunch
  • Supports in cleaning the lunch space and kitchen throughout lunch and after lunch
  • Ensures serving trays and any other equipment are properly sanitized and stored
  • Serves students breakfast and lunch
  • Prepares snacks for after school program
  • Adherence to KIPP and local public health and safety standards
  • Support with special events (field trips field days etc.
  • Ability to lead Health & Safety Inspections with the support of the Director of School Operations (DSO)
  • The ability to implement systems to run a successful meal program
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Mental and Environmental Demands

Physical: Ability to cart food from one location to another. Ability to access and utilize technology. (GSuite platform for ordering meals timecards etc. Daily lifting/carrying of equipment 40lbs. Physical agility to move oneself in various positions to execute duties effectively which may include kneeling walking pushing/pulling squatting twisting turning bending stooping and reaching overhead.

Mental: Stress of deadlines and normal work standards ability to analyze problems and generate alternatives work with interruptions concentrate for long periods of time read calculate perform routine math problems memorize and recall objects and people. The ability to advocate what is needed to ensure the job duties are done properly.

Environmental: The position is 100 onsite. Adhere to KIPPs health and safety guidelines as outlined by the CDC CDE and public health agencies recommendations.

Classification
Parttime nonexempt position based on the school calendar. This teammate will work 24 hours/week serving breakfast lunch and preparing afterschool snacks. This role is eligible for benefits.

Compensation
KIPP Northern California is dedicated to you and your familys wellbeing! We offer a competitive salary as well as a comprehensive benefits package including medical dental vision and transportation benefits.
We benchmark annually against comparablysized nonprofit organizations in the regions where we operate to offer competitive salaries. The hourly rate for this position is between $16.88 $18.46/hr.
