Background
To create and contribute to the creation of knowledge by undertaking a specified range of activities within EPSRC Strategic Infrastructure grant UltraLowTemperature NMR (ULTNMR).
Applications are invited for a Scientific Officer position in the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Birmingham to support the EPSRC Strategic Infrastructure UltraLowTemperature Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (ULTNMR) project. The ULTNMR facility will provide UK researchers with the capability to perform static NMR at temperatures down to 100 mK in variable magnetic fields up to 16 T including crosspolarisation experiments.
This stateoftheart facility will drive highimpact research in quantum and functional materials leveraging significantly enhanced signaltonoise ratios and providing access to previously unexplored parameter spaces. The successful candidate will play a key role in the installation commissioning management and ongoing development of the equipment ensuring its effective operation and supporting UK researchers in their groundbreaking work.
