Job Summary:

Nature of Work:

The University of Colorado College of Nursing is seeking a Certified NurseMidwife (CNM) / Instructor in the NonTenure Clinical Practice Track for a 1.0 FTE benefitseligible position with its CU Center for Midwifery (CFM) faculty practice in Longmont Colorado. This is a full scope position including antepartum intrapartum postpartum well woman and gynecological care. This position is clinicallybased as a health care provider and includes an instructor level nontenure clinical practice track appointment within the College of Nursing. The University of Colorado College of Nursing currently has four academic midwifery faculty practices and a midwifery education program.

Clinic Description:

The CU Center for Midwifery at Longmont is a private practice model that provides holistic personcentered care. We offer people many services including individualized care alternative labor/birth options and water birth with referrals to childbirth education lactation services and provider groups within the system and community. The practice provides fullscope midwifery care to people at an outpatient clinic in Longmont with inpatient services at Longs Peak Hospital. CFM believes that people benefit from personalized and comprehensive care that focuses on the patient while including the family in the plan of care. We serve people who desire an alternative labor and birth experience with a water birth and nitrous oxide option. The CNM will be part of a midwifery service that has a long and successful history within the University of Colorado system. The Longmont practice opened in 2017 and CNMs will be expected to actively participate in practice development and promotion.

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Provide full scope care to the gynecologic antepartum intrapartum and postpartum client
  • Provide care in the outpatient clinic triage unit and intrapartum unit
  • Utilize limited obstetric ultrasound skills in the outpatient and inpatient setting
  • Attend monthly practice meetings and participate in a minimum of 1 practice and/or College of Nursing committees.
  • Educate health care team students (APNs medical students residents) and actively participate in student evaluations.
  • Provide water birth option to lowrisk women
  • Participate in practice development promotion and community outreach.
  • Active participation in health plan contracts.
  • Remain credentialed by the health plans and ensure credentialing materials stay current.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Instructor:

  • Masters degree in midwifery from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Current AMCB certification
  • Current RN APN and RxN licensures in good standing (Any State) or applicable certified midwife professional license.
    • Could be working toward CO clinical licenses during application process and registered with DORADepartment of Regulatory Agencies. Must have Colorado licensures by date of hire.

Minimum Qualifications Senior Instructor:

  • Masters degree in midwifery from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Current AMCB certification
  • Current RN APN and RxN licensures in good standing (Any State) or applicable certified midwife professional license.
    • Could be working toward CO clinical licenses during application process and registered with DORADepartment of Regulatory Agencies. Must have Colorado licensures by date of hire.
  • Demonstrated leadership in area of practice.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with academic colleagues and students in practice activities.

Minimum Qualifications Assistant Professor:

  • Masters degree in midwifery from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • Doctoral degree in nursing midwifery an appropriate area of science or a related area from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • Current AMCB certification
  • Current RN APN and RxN licensures in good standing (Any State) or applicable certified midwife professional license.
    • Could be working toward CO clinical licenses during application process and registered with DORADepartment of Regulatory Agencies. Must have Colorado licensures by date of hire.
  • Demonstrated leadership in area of practice.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with academic colleagues and students in practice activities.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be willing and able to obtain current AMCB certification by date of hire.
  • Must be willing and able to provide full scope contraceptive services and counseling on abortion services.
  • Must be willing and able to obtain Colorado RN APN RxN licenses by date of hire.
  • Must be willing and able to obtain current board certification as a CNM by date of hire
  • Must be willing and able to obtain current DEA license within 18 months of hire.
  • Must be willing and able to obtain valid NPI number by date of hire

The starting salary range or hiring range for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

$95683 $105252 annually at Instructor of Clinical Practice/CNM

$96639 $106304 annually at Sr. Instructor of Clinical Practice /CNM

$97596 $107357 annually at Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice /CNM

The above salary range or hiring range represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is nonexempt.
