Shape the future of cybersecurity education at Torrens University.
Torrens University is expanding its cybersecurity programs to complement our established Software Engineering and Information Technology courses. We are seeking a forwardthinking Senior Lecturer in Cybersecurity to join our Design and Creative Technology Faculty where cybersecurity intersects with humancentric computing AI and creative entrepreneurship.
In this role you will:
Deliver highquality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels (oncampus and online).
Engage in research and scholarship with opportunities to supervise PhD candidates.
Support students beyond class hours and contribute to course development.
Lead subject/course management academic projects or industry collaborations.
Were looking for an experienced academic with a strong IT background demonstrated expertise in humancentric computing and a proven research track record. A PhD is along with highquality publications research grants or industrylinked projects.
Key responsibilities are listed below but are not limited to:
Teaching/Learning Facilitation
Deliver lectures seminars forums workshops/practical sessions and tutorials both online and on campus using innovative learning and teaching practices
Research and Scholarship
Contribute to research and research output aligned with the discipline and the universitys strategic plan
Industry and Professional Practice
Lead maintain and engage with industry professional connections strategic alliances and relevant professional bodies including industrial commercial and public organisations
Academic Leadership
Where agreed lead curriculum development in courses and subjects
Collaboration Outcomes and Innovation
Collaborate with other academic staff across Torrens University Media Design School and the wider SEI group to enhance teaching and learning scholarship and research
Who you are:
PhD in Information Technology or related fields.
At least five years of experience in higher education in the field of information technology.
A demonstrated track record of highquality teaching in information technology.
A demonstrated track record of highquality research outcomes through traditional publications conferences and nontraditional research outcomes.
Evidence of applying for research grants.
Evidence of research that is applicable to industry or in collaboration with industry partners.
A demonstrated commitment to work collaboratively in a team environment.
A commitment to personal growth and continuous professional development.
A high service ethos towards students to support their learning.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
