Job Description

Position Information

Are you an analytical and critical

There is one 1 vacancy in theDepartment of Planning and PermittingPlanning Division Development Plans & Zone Changes Branch. Your duties andresponsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
  1. Participate in the development and updates of longrange regional plans and special area plans.
  2. Monitoring compliance with conditions of unilateral agreements (UAs) via reviewing and commenting on various applications and plans. Reviewing annual reports and updating staff monitoring reports for UAs.
  3. Assists with reviewing affordable housing projects for compliance with applicable requirementspursuant tothe UAs and Chapter 29 ROH from the entitlement phase to the postconstruction phase.
  4. Independently reviewing evaluating and drafting reports recommending action on proposals for zone change and zoning district boundary adjustment.
  5. Conduct research by gathering and analyzing land use economic socialandenvironmental data related to assigned projects.
  6. Responding to inquiries and perform other related duties as assigned.
You must be knowledgeable about:
  1. Principles practices purposes and scope of techniques of the various phases of city planning;
  2. Trends in Federal State and local planning as they affect city planning;
  3. Research methodology and statistical procedures;
  4. Sources and uses of socioeconomic information; and
  5. State and local laws and ordinances related to city planning.
There is also one 1 vacancy in the
Department of Parks and Recreation Administration Division.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

At time of application you must be a citizen national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a noncitizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from a regionallyaccredited college or university with major work in city planning architecture engineering economics sociology public administration or a related field.

Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionallyaccredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program evidence of comparability or an original transcript.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Four years of professional (postbachelors degree nonclerical) experience in architecture engineering or socioeconomic research including or supplemented by two years of professional work experience in city planning or related planning activities.

Substitution:
1 A Masters degree in Architecture Civil Engineering Geography Economics Sociology Business Administration Public Administration or a related field from a regionallyaccredited college/university may be substituted for two years of architecture engineering or socioeconomic research experience.

2 A Masters degree in Urban and Regional Planning from a regionallyaccredited college/university may be substituted for two years of architecture engineering or socioeconomic research experience and one year of city planning experience.

LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
Possession of an appropriate valid drivers license as required.
