EMPLOYMENT TERMS:Fulltime 9month position
PRIMARY DUTY: The successful candidate will teach in a coteaching capacity with a lead masterlevel teacher at an innovative projectbased childcentered kindergarten through sixth grade laboratory school. The Associate Teacher will provide elementary students with exemplary instruction within a laboratory school setting with a focus on science technology engineering and mathematics within a social justice framework. The Associate Teacher will work collaboratively with the classroom teachers to provide a unique experience where students share a classroom with specific grade level instruction and blended learning of integrated subjects. The Associate Teacher is responsible for promoting high expectations for students working collaboratively with coteachers communicating effectively with parents assisting with curriculum development infusing art and music into content areas and working collaboratively with the School of Education faculty and staff.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelors degree in Education Early Childhood Education or other closely related associated program from a regionallyaccredited University/College
Certification/License: Valid Missouri State Teaching Certificate or evidence of ability to receive certificate in a timely manner
INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL:Willing to be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport to participate in international study away trips for faculty and students
WORKING CONDITIONS:Collaborative teambased academic environment in a universitybased laboratory school
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervises student employees and K6 grade students; Supervises teacher candidates in the absence of the masterlevel teacher
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to complete essential classroom/administrative functions; ability to lift up to 20 pounds
