Job Description

Department:

University Police

Salary:

$8.25 per hour (Max 26 hours per week)

Position Summary:

Seeking a student who is motivated to assist in managing and enhancing Health and Public Safety digital media content. This includes assisting with social media and website content development and to produce digital medium such as photographs graphics and related promotional items. This role offers an exciting opportunity for students to gain handson experience in marketing and digital media management while contributing to campus health and safety and community engagement.

Positions may be filled based on individual applicants skills qualifications and departmental needs.

Adheres to all department and University policies and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Social Media Coordination:
    • Assist in the daily operations of the Jacksonville State University Police Health and Public Safety social media platforms.
    • Create engaging and informative content that promotes safety initiatives community events and important updates.
  • Content Creation:
    • Design visually appealing content including alerts announcements and community engagement content.
  • Monitoring and Engagement:
    • Monitor and engage with students and the broader community through interactive content such as polls Q&A sessions updates.
  • Analytics and Reporting:
    • Prepare regular reports on social media engagement and content.
  • Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with other campus departments to ensure cohesive messaging and promote joint events.
  • Training and Development:
    • Stay informed about best practices in social media management public safety and communityoriented policing.
  • Additional duties as required by the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Mus have a valid Drivers License.
  • Must not have been convicted of a felony or crime of moral turpitude.
  • must be enrolled as a JSU student taking at least three 3 hours per fall or spring semester. (Requirements for international students below. *
  • If not a firsttime student the applicant must have a GPA of 2.00 or higher.
  • Selected applicants must provide evidence of student enrollment and GPA (unofficial transcript or printout of enrollment/GPA from MyJSU.

  2. F1 Student Visa or J1 Exchange Student Visa.
  3. U.S. Customs Form I94.
  4. Official photo identification.
  5. Official Social Security Card imprinted with Valid for Work Only or similar statement
