GENERAL DESCRIPTION:


This position is for the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality Water Quality Divisions Commercial Oilfield Waste Disposal Facilities (COWDF) position. The COWDF Project Lead is the primary reviewer for applications and prepares permits for COWDF projects and water and wastewater infrastructure construction projects evaluates COWDF permit applications conducts field inspections may coordinate with partner agencies (federal state or local entities) provides technical assistance reviews annual reports and closure cost estimates assists with violations against the Wyoming Department of Environmental Qualitys (DEQ) Water Quality Rules and Regulations and works with the COWDF District Engineer in assisting various local state federal and other organizations to meet project and program objectives.

Qualifications

Preference will be given to those with a Bachelors degree in chemical civil environmental geologic or other engineering or geology fields.





  • Knowledge of current principles of engineering.
  • Knowledge of current design and detailing policies and procedures for the work unit.
  • Knowledge of mentoring and coaching skills.
  • Knowledge of Federal State and local rules and regulations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
Bachelors Degree (in Geology/Geotechnical Engineering)
Experience:
24 years of progressive work experience in Geology with acquired knowledge at the level of a Senior Project Geologist

Certificates Licenses Registrations:
Professional Geologist License (PG) or Professional Engineering License (PE) required at time of hire. (Wyoming PG or PE required within one year of hire date.
