You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe primary responsibility of this position is with a high degree of vigilance to monitor swimmers and respond to situations where their safety may be compromised. This includes observing guests as they swim and monitoring their proficiency maintaining a safe environment by enforcing rules and providing care to guests who may become injured or encounter a physical ailment. During a typical rotation you may be on the pool deck for up to an hour.
Secondary responsibilities will include basic upkeep of the facility by maintaining a clean environment which is free of trash and clutter and during the winter you may be asked to participate in the removal of snow from the facilities entrance. You will also be responsible monitoring the safe operation aquatic attractions the safety of swimmers in the facility abiding safe operation rules.
Experience: Certified as American Red Cross Lifeguard or the equivalent and First Aid and CPR certificates.
The equivalent would be a lifeguard certification from another licensing agency (Star Guard Ellis and Associate YMCA American Lifeguard Association are the most common).
Minor Work Permit: No longer required for minors however all DOL regulations regarding minors working environment must be followed.
This recruitment is being used to collect applications for parttime limited Lifeguards for the Parks & Recreation Department. In accordance with 2 PR 010 parttime limited positions may be noncompetitive and are not subject to public announcement.
