Religion Description:

  • We are seeking a candidate to cultivate and lead a strong catholic identity throughout the school while teaching religion classes in grades 68. Key responsibilities would include planning school masses and schoolwide prayer opportunities recruiting and training altar servers and sacristans and supporting teachers in commemorating the liturgical year.
  • This position is full time and will be combined with middle school teaching in English Language Arts.

English Language Arts Description:

  • We are seeking a candidate to serve as a key member of our middle school team by teaching English Language Arts a supplemental subject of religion and building a strong middle school culture by partnering with our middle school team to lead the following programming:
    • Crosssectional 6th8th grade house leadership and gradelevel daily homeroom/advisory. These programs provide unique opportunities to foster leadership and mentorship among our scholars across our middle school.
    • Vocational and career explorationsupporting our scholars in dreaming big and exploring future paths and passions.
    • Designing academic and social emotional interventions to ensure all scholars are prepared to thrive in high school.

Purpose of Position:

To provide instructional classes in all assigned subjects in accordance with the school/parish mission statementsguiding principlesphilosophy handbooks curriculum and directions established by the principal assistant principal presidentand pastor

Responsibilities:

  • Teach all assigned subjects in accordance with the schools mission principles and curriculum.
  • Conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the mission and purpose of the Church.

  • Implement new educational strategies and effectively manage the classroom.
  • Support the Catholic School Mission and Philosophy.
  • Adhere to the employee handbook.
  • Differentiate instruction write objectivecentered lesson plans and maintain a positive atmosphere.
  • Exhibit competence in instructional methods and knowledge of subject matter.
  • Demonstrate good classroom management and a collegial atmosphere.
  • Integrate technology into lessons and communicate effectively with the school community.
  • Maintain confidentiality integrity and honesty.
  • Plan organize and meet deadlines.

Salary Range:$36300 $85000 annually

  • Starting salary is determined by the candidates teaching experience and education level
  • Ascension Catholic Academy follows a structured stepandlane salary schedule similar to public school. The final compensation package will be based on verified teaching experience and educational credentials.

  • Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in Education or related field
  • Successful completion of background check

  • Proficiency in educational technology and Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work a fulltime schedule of 40 hours per week including attendance at required school events (graduation holiday programs and other activities as determined by administration)
  • Sustained mobility to move throughout classroom and school environments for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks required in an educational setting
  • Full sensory capabilities including ability to speak clearly see hear and respond effectively to students staff and administrators at all times
  • Ability to fulfill all commitments of the educational program throughout the school year
