Job Description

Overview

Planned Systems International (PSI) is an Enterprise IT services company who focuses on designing building securing and operating cuttingedge software solutions that drive mission success and operational excellence for Federal Government organizations. PSI has a need for a Mission Planning Systems Engineer (MPSE) at Cannon AFB in Clovis New Planning is an essential component for the of AFSOC missions. Specialized expertise and familiarity with the CV22 is necessary to effectively support this function. MPSEs provide ingarrison support of aircraft systems and the IT components that interface with them to conduct operations. MPSEs are a critical support element for the operations and maintenance of mission planning IT capabilities wherever they may occur throughout the globe and these needs extend to AFSOCs CV22 units. The contractor shall provide Mission Planning support and instruction to accomplish tasks.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

  • MPSEs will perform all standard duties and responsibilities associated with their role.
  • MPSE will provide support at and travel to the onsite locations exercise locations simulator facilities deployed locations and test locations to support CV22 needs.
  • MPSEs will learn the CV22 Mission Planning System (MPS) theory functions and operations and become familiar with the latest updates to the mission planning software and how to implement those updates in practical applications of executing mission planning.
  • MPSEs instruct CV22 aircrew members and the intelligence personnel supporting CV22 operations concerning the practical operations of all CV22 Mission Planning System (MPS) planning modules (functions).
  • MPSEs facilitate planning efforts undertaken by CV22 aircrew members and the intelligence personnel in support of training test operations exercises and realworld operations.
  • MPSEs observe the mission planning actions activities and efforts of CV22 aircrew members and the intelligence personnel categorizing and analyzing them for patterns of success and recurring difficulties encountered during the mission planning process.
  • MPSEs document and report their observations of success and difficulty patterns to Government officials including operational squadron leadership and CV22 mission planning software managers.
  • MPSEs propose potential software improvements to mitigate the difficulties they have observed during the mission planning efforts in the field.
  • MPSEs consult with CV22 mission planning software designers and programmers concerning the difficulties they have observed/identified and their postulated software improvement solutions to mitigate those difficulties and improve the mission planning software.
  • Provide direct support for ground and flight test organizations and activities associated with mission system modifications.
  • Provide test organizations support in reviewing and assessing operational impacts to the CV22 mission planning system modifications and participate in the CV22 Software Change Review Board as required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Will have mission planning experience and technical skills qualifications with applicable experience specific to military aviation including a DoDM 8140.03 IAT Level II certification.
  • Active T3 investigation with the ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances as required for access to classified information.
  • Will require detailed knowledge of AFSOC operations and tactics.
  • Will require a minimum of five 5 years operational experience with or supporting navigation and mission planning techniques including preparation and check out of flight plans for aircraft weapons systems.
  • Will require familiarity with the CV22 tactical Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and mission guides.
  • Bachelors degree from a fouryear college or university in CS IS Engineering or related discipline or Tech School Cert related to CS or the equivalent military training.

  • Will maintain a high level of training proficiency and excellence. Training excellence will be equated to the ability to impart skills to the AFSOC warfighter using mission scenarios whereby the AFSOC user realizes the benefits of the mission planning & capabilities.
  • Will possess the ability to develop processes and techniques which will enhance the CV22 Mission Planning System (VMPS) and reduces the workload for other CV22 mission planning support contractors.
  • Will have a detailed working knowledge of processes and procedures for using automated tools to plan support and execute special operations roles for mission planning.
  • Will possess an indepth knowledge of the unified command structure joint doctrine and joint policies.
