Thanks to continued expansion the city offers more opportunities for your health care career or medical practice Position Description: Inpatient rehab hospital position within a dynamic interdisciplinary department serving orthopedic neurologic and general medicalsurgical needs. Facility is a JCAHO accredited Neuroscience Center of Excellence and we have recently added a Progressive Orthopedic Program to serve the needs of postoperative orthopedic patients. Occupational Therapists use purposeful goaloriented activity in assessing evaluating and/or treating persons whose function is impaired by physical illness or injury emotional disorder congenital or developmental disability or the aging process to achieve optimum functioning to prevent disability and to maintain health. The Occupational Therapist will assess patients progress during and following treatment. Evaluation and treatment shall be initiated only by written prescription or confirmed verbal orders of a qualified physician. Therapists will interact with members of this department as well as other hospital departments to provide for essential department operational tasks including patient treatment and continuing education infection control and quality assurance. Occupational Therapists will maintain communication through documentation and verbal consultation with nursing staff and physicians to provide optimal patient care. License/Certification: Current licensure in Texas as an Occupational Therapist. Certification in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Education/Experience: Previous experience in Occupational Therapy. Computer skills.
