Description

About the Role:

Lecturers in the Bachelor of Social Work program play a critical role in delivering highquality education fostering student development and contributing to the academic environment of the School of Social Work. This role involves teaching curriculum development mentoring students and engaging in scholarly and professional activities. Lecturers are also expected to support governance processes collaborate with colleagues and build strong industry and community partnerships. A commitment to teaching excellence student success and continuous professional development is essential.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging lectures tutorials and practical sessions to enhance student learning.
  • Foster an outstanding student experience by encouraging active participation in learning.
  • Contribute to curriculum development ensuring innovative and evidencebased teaching practices.
  • Engage in scholarly activities to enhance the quality innovation and relevance of teaching and learning.
  • Contribute to research and scholarship to expand knowledge and practice in the social work discipline.
  • Support academic and administrative operations including student services and compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

  • A doctoral or masters qualification in Social Work or a relevant discipline
  • Significant progress towards completing a doctoral degree in a related field.
  • AASW membership is required.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating higher education units of study
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching social work or related topics in a tertiary setting
  • Experience as an academic team member
  • Current membership or eligibility to be a member of AASW.
  • Previous experience teaching social work subjects including delivering lectures tutorials and workshops.
  • Relevant industry Experience
  • Advance HE Fellowship (Desirable)
