Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- The candidate is responsible to plan design supervise coordinate direct and execute electronics hardware development involving precision analog and high speed digital design activities in support of the High Power Fiber Laser Group.
- We expect the candidate to bring strong design background in mixedsignal circuit design. The chosen individual will design board level optoelectronic circuits addressing high speed OE conversion as well as low noise signal detection and analog control loops.
- Basic RF design understanding is very beneficial. Otherwise must be willing and able to learn the basics from our team.
- Coherent is looking for highly motivated individual who is a selfstarter with dedication to teamwork.
Education & Experience
- A Bachelors degree in Engineering or Physics or a related field is required.
- Proficient in suitable software tools such as SPICE ADS and Matlab Signal integrity understanding or modelling experience is a plus.
- Conversant with schematic entry and layout support.
Skills
- Skilled in the design of optical receivers and transmitters for medium to high speed applications
- Experience in low noise optical receiver design and analog to digital conversion (with FPGA and/or microcontroller interface)
- Skilled in the use of circuit modelling such as SPICE ADS and MATLAB. Familiarity with Simulink is a plus.
- Ability to work highly independently with relatively little guidance from supervisor on specific tasks
- Excels in a crossorganizational cross cultural global team environment.
