Saint Louis University a Catholic Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning research health care service and social justice seeks applicants for the position of STEM Research and Instruction Librarian Pius XII Memorial Library. The STEM Research and Instruction Librarian reports to the Chair of Research and Instruction Services and has the following areas of responsibility: Serve as the subject librarian for the natural and physical sciences engineering aviation computer science and mathematics. Select resources supporting the teaching and research needs of STEM students and faculty. Conduct subjectspecific research consultations both in person and online. Teach interactive curriculumintegrated instructional sessions. Create tutorials learning objects or other curricular resources in a variety of media. Participate in general reference and instructional services in a teambased environment. Participate in shared departmental tasks and initiatives. These may include but are not limited to assessment data collection and analysis collection management copyright education and maintenance and evaluation of electronic resources. Participate in professional activities including university and library committees and task forces and attend professional meetings. Required Qualifications Masters degree in librarianship from a library program accredited by the American Library Association (or the appropriate national body of another country). Undergraduate and/or advanced degree(s) in science technology engineering or mathematics from an accredited institution or at least two years of experience as a STEM librarian. Knowledge of information sources related to STEM research and an understanding of the information needs of STEM faculty graduate and undergraduate students. Demonstrated positive public service orientation evidence of strong organizational abilities and teamwork skills effective oral/written communication skills welldeveloped research skills and a commitment to professional growth. Preferred Qualifications Two or more years of professional library experience. Experience with resources related to STEM research. Knowledge of the unique information needs of scientists engineers and technologists. Collection development experience in an academic or research library. Experience with information literacy instruction and understanding of the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education. Awareness of emerging trends in STEM librarianship.
