A licensed professional who designs and delivers learning experiences for students in a grade level and/or content area; organizes and facilitates the learning process utilizing a variety of evidencebased instructional practices and applicable technology; participates in a community of learning to develop and refine knowledge and skills for the academic civic social and emotional success of students; consistently evaluates student progress makes appropriate adjustments and communicates student progress; regularly collaborates reflects and grows to improve learning opportunities for students.

At Village High School:

  • Teachers guide students through personalized learning activities in an online competencybased system.

  • Teachers are highly qualified in specific content areas and serve as the teacher of record for students in courses within that content area.

  • Teachers lead students in elective courses based on qualifications and interest.

  • Teacher may also support students in subject area courses in a completely online environment.

  • Teachers will assist students in collaborative problemsolving activities personal inquiry projects leadership development and wellness activities.

  • Teachers will serve as formal mentors for a small group of role includes conducting regular progress checks assisting students with goalsetting and serving as the primary point of contact for parents and families.

  • Teachers may be involved in some team teaching situations working with other adults in the same classroom in a collaborative partnership.

  • Teachers may supervise students as they participate in learning expeditions such as: hikes physical activities museum visits historical sites etc.

  • Successful candidates will have a spirit of innovation and be willing to develop and refine systems for the benefit of individual students and the school.

  • Successful candidates will be willing to collaborate with colleagues and administration to develop learning activities projects expeditions events and operational tasks in an open and fluid environment.
