Principal Product Manager - Technical Amazon Robotics

Amazon Robotics is seeking an experienced Principal Product Manager Technical (PMT) to lead and support the Mobile Manipulation product portfolio. In this role you will define and drive the strategic vision for advancing our mobile manipulation technology systems consisting of multidegreeoffreedom robotic arms integrated with autonomous mobile drive systems. This role will focus on develop solutions targeting Amazons most pressing operational needs while establishing a platform that can scale across opportunities in Amazons Fulfillment Network. You will collaborate strategically across Amazon Robotics and partner organizations to understand customer needs and use cases deliver comprehensive product strategy author detailed product requirement documents and develop multiyear category roadmaps.

The ideal candidate is a deep systems thinker with strong analytical capabilities who has shown an ability to influence strategy and product development across organizations. You should have handson experience with robotic systems particularly in mobile robotics or manipulation and significant product management experience in complex technical environments. You should be adept at synthesizing diverse business needs technologies and capabilities into product solutions that deliver transformative results. Were looking for someone who can evaluate complex tradeoffs between flexibility utilization and ROI across various automation approaches. The candidate must be able to communicate complex concepts in verbal written and visual mediums to diverse business operations and technical stakeholders. This role reports into Amazon Robotics Product Management Excellence organization.

Key job responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
* Lead and support the development of the vision strategy business plan and roadmap for Amazons mobile manipulation robots and collaborate crossfunctionally to bring that vision to life.
* Be a passionate advocate for the customer; understand and articulate business and customer needs leverage internal knowledge and expertise and prioritize requirements.
* Author internal whitepapers and present to executive leadership to drive alignment on category strategy multiyear roadmaps product plans and resource allocations.

Technical :
* Evaluate and influence system architectural design and interface tradeoff decisions across organizational boundaries to improve endtoend system objectives.
* Collaborate with engineers applied scientists and technical program managers to understand technical feasibility and prioritize development and implementation of new concepts and features.
* Define use cases write requirements documents and own the business metrics and KPIs for your products.

The Product Management Excellence (PME) teams mission is to collaborate with Leadership and teams across Amazon Robotics (AR) to establish our longterm vision and influence ARs product and technology strategy to develop a portfolio that maximizes ARs impact to Amazon. We aim to own the full product lifecycle by balancing three ongoing priorities: 1 continuously improving the worlds largest robotics product base 2 delivering new solutions that maximize our customers business performance and 3 inventing transformative products to solve our customers future needs.

Bachelors degree in engineering or other technical field.
Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition for a product category.
Experience making sound decisions on producttechnology feature capability and performance tradeoffs.
Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product.
Proven track record managing complex stakeholder relationships.
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies and architectures.
Exceptional written verbal and presentation skills; demonstrated ability to influence others and manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.

MBA and/or postgraduate engineering/science degree.
Experience developing and launching firstgeneration B2B/B2B2C products and services; comfortable with ambiguity and nascent markets.
Familiarity or experience with robotic mobility and/or manipulation computer vision actuators sensors and/or machine learning/AI.
Experience analyzing applications for robotics and automation systems and specifying hardware software AI and customer experience requirements.
Experience using rapid prototyping and other creative mechanisms to gather direct customer feedback throughout the product development process.
Passion for driving customer experiences and diving deep into highly technical topics with engineers and scientists.
Proven analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data to create complex financial models to justify investment opportunities.
