Software Developer

We have an opening for a Software Developer. You will be a member of a software development and directory services team that designs develops and supports an identity and account management system. This is a multidisciplinary team that works the full stack of application development deployment operations and support. This position is in the Information Technology Solutions (ITS) Division within the Computing Directorate in support of LivIT and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).

This position offers a hybrid schedule blending inperson and virtual presence. You will have the flexibility to work from home one or more days per week.

This position will be filled at either level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.

You will

• Provide comprehensive software application engineering and maintenance for all phases of the software development lifecycle including analysis design implementation and support.
• Generate functional requirements develop architectural design documentation provide status for project tracking activities and prototype where appropriate.
• Perform Tier2/Tier3 support of the applications and systems as well as administration of related Active Directory services.
• Develop technical artifacts to support proposals architecture and application code base.
• Contribute to the fulfillment of technical projects and organizational objectives functioning as an effective team member on multidisciplinary teams.
• Engage other developers frequently to share relevant knowledge opinions and recommendations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional job responsibilities at the SES.3 level

• Conduct complex system and process analysis efforts to provide original solutions to customers complex problems.
• Develop complex cloudbased software solution.

Qualifications :

• Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Qlevel security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelors degree in computer science computer engineering or a related field or the equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Proficient experience developing software with objectoriented languages such as C# or Java and utilizing frameworks such as .NET.
• Proficient experience implementing webbased user interfaces using a JavaScript framework such as Angular or React
• Comprehensive skills in the software project life cycle including requirements design implementation integration test and deployment as well as tools such as Jira BitBucket and Jenkins.
• Broad experience troubleshooting software issues and providing technical support
• Ability to effectively manage concurrent technical tasks with competing priorities and meet deadlines that are important to project success.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills to prepare present and document technical information.

Additional qualifications at the SES.3 level

• Advanced experience developing software with objectoriented languages and frameworks and webbased user interfaces
• Experience providing innovative approaches and applying new technologies to broadly defined tasks and projects.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal direction while leveraging broad experience in applying effective analytical and problemsolving skills to address moderately complex challenges.

Qualifications We Desire

• Experience with cloud computing technologies Kubernetes and containerization
• Experience with Public Key infrastructure
• Experience with Microsoft Active Directory administration Azure Identity Manager and Management Console plugin development
