Event Sales & Services Manager
Are you an organized dynamic and resultsdriven professional with a passion for creating unforgettable events We are looking for an Event Sales & Services Manager to join our Conference Services & Catering team.
What You Will Be Doing:
Reporting to the Director of Event Sales & Services this key position will have the exciting opportunity to lead and manage a variety of social and corporate events while ensuring exceptional service for our clients.
- Business Development: Actively seek out and solicit new local social and corporate business to drive revenue growth.
- Event Planning & Coordination: Organize plan and execute a wide range of events including fundraisers annual events Christmas parties and small to mediumsized conferences.
- Client Liaison: Serve as the primary contact for clients managing all event details including menus audiovisual room layouts meeting times checkin/out procedures and more.
- Revenue Forecasting: Accurately forecast and project group revenue while ensuring the achievement of both individual and departmental revenue targets.
- Internal Coordination: Relay event details to all departments (Sales Banquets Culinary Stewarding) via Conference Resumes Banquet Event Orders and internal memos in a timely and thorough manner.
- Team Collaboration: Foster a cooperative team spirit between departments ensuring seamless communication and event .
- Administrative Support: Assist with administrative needs including handling general inquiries managing leads and supporting internal events and the tour market.
- OnSite Oversight: Oversee clients during their stay ensuring events run smoothly and anticipating guest needs.
- System Management: Maintain uptodate records in Opera Cloud including catering menus resources pricing and the function diary.
- Safety & Compliance: Uphold health and safety standards maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Fairmont Hotels & Resorts policies and procedures.
- Customer Service Excellence: Maintain the highest level of customer service positively contributing to GSI Meeting Planner results.

Qualifications :
What Were Looking For:
- Experience: Previous experience in a Conference Services & Catering role or Banquet/Events experience is an asset. Experience with Weddings and Local & Social Catering events is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with Opera Cloud MS Office and Social Tables is an asset.
- Event Expertise: Proven ability to plan and execute events effectively with acute attention to detail.
- Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients team members and vendors.
- Education: A hospitality diploma or degree is an asset.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible schedules including evenings and weekends.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods occasional lifting up to 20 lbs bending kneeling and walking.
