Job Description
THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY OF $19.00 PER HOUR.
The Administration for Childrens Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages communitybased supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice ACS oversees detention placement and programs for youth in the community.
ACS Division of Child and Family Wellbeing (CFWB) works to ensure critical supports to families and children and is rooted in the belief that all New Yorkers should have health resources and educational cultural and social opportunities that support their capacity to thrive. Through the Office of Community Engagement and Partnerships (OCEP) CFWB invests in and collaborates with eleven funded Community Partnerships. CFWB is looking for a motivated Community Engagement & Partnerships Undergraduate Intern to join our OCEP team.
As a Community Engagement & Partnerships Undergraduate Intern you will work with our team to develop and deliver communications strategies to inform staff about community engagement. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to connect share information and design and implement wellbeing strategies informed by community priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop/design communications materials (i.e. PowerPoint flyers one pagers etc. via Canva or other software programs
Contribute as a thought partner in meetings to provide a student lens into OCEP work
Identify areas of research and conduct research (primarily online) on noted research questions
Assist with planning meetings/events/training by and designing content for dissemination
Attend community program site visits meetings and events
Share communication materials and provide on the ground support on event and training days to ensure seamless
Learning Outcomes:
Gain comprehensive knowledge on developing and executing communications strategies
Develop skills in collaborating across teams towards desired outcomes
Enhance abilities in coordinating and executing organizational tasks and events
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Section 424A of the New York Social Services Law requires an authorized agency to inquire whether a candidate for employment with childcaring responsibilities has been the subject of a child abuse and maltreatment report.

Qualifications :
As of June of the Program year the prospective interne must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year).
NOTE: Appointment to this title is only valid for the duration of the Program June August each year.
