Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the installation maintenance operation and repair of machinery equipment and systems as required to maintain functioning building(s).
- Performs all duties required to operate repair and maintain machinery equipment and systems in Harris County facilities within City County and State guidelines.
- May be required to drive personal or county vehicle to various work sites. Assumes supervisors duties when supervisor absent trains less experienced coworkers and performs other duties as assigned.
- May be required to be oncall after hours.

REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Two 2 years of related technical school or courses.
Experience:
- 3rd grade or higher Stationary Engineer License.
- Universal EPA Certification required.
- Five 5 years handson in various aspects of building engineering operations and contract management relating to repair maintenance and operation of commercial and/or industrial facilities.
- One year experience with computer programs such as Microsoft office suite spreadsheets and database applications.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions in a thorough neat and timely manner and display mechanical aptitude.
- Skilled in the care and use of hand tools and power equipment used in maintenance engineering trades.
- Maintain a courteous helpful behavior always.
- Selfstarter possessing the interpersonal skills required to be a productive team player.
- Ability to receive CJIS clearance pass a security check and a drug test as required. This position is Safety Sensitive and will be subject to random drug and alcohol screening.
- Required to obtain license in assigned area.
Licensure:
- Valid drivers license (Texas upon hire) a good driving record and the ability to drive a County vehicle to various job sites as needed to accomplish tasks and projects.

General Information
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:
FullTime Regular 40 hours per week.
Subject to early mornings late evenings weekends and holidays at times depending upon the project or workload.
Salary:
Commensurate with experience based on 26 pay periods.
Physical Demands and Environmental Exposure:
Most assignments will be performed in an office meeting or operations command center environment but some field work may be required. May be required to work extended work hours during activation of disaster recovery operations for an unspecified length of time (varies based on the extent of the event).
This position requires bending stooping and lifting up to 25 lbs. frequent walking standing sitting reaching and ascending/descending stairs.
