Your primary responsibilities will include assisting patients with activities of daily living maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment and supporting their overall wellbeing.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a genuine passion for helping others and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You must be able to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team as well as independently when necessary.

Some key responsibilities of the Behavioral Health CNA include:

1. Assisting patients with activities of daily living such as bathing dressing grooming and personal hygiene.
2. Monitoring patients physical and emotional wellbeing reporting any changes or concerns promptly to the nursing staff.
3. Providing support during group therapy sessions recreational activities and other treatment programs.
4. Encouraging patients to participate in their care plan and assisting them in identifying and expressing their needs.
5. Maintaining a safe and clean environment by assisting with housekeeping tasks organizing patient belongings and ensuring proper storage of medical supplies.
6. Documenting patient care activities observations and interventions in an accurate and timely manner.
7. Participating in mandatory inservice training programs to maintain certification and stay current on best practices in behavioral health care.
8. Adhering to all HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations and maintaining confidentiality of patient information at all times.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE TRAINING

1. Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire required.
2. Current BLS upon hire and maintain current.
3. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
4. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physicians office preferred.
