This position is an onsite role based in our Chesapeake VA location.
What You Will Do:
As a Principal Software Engineer you will support one or more phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) requirements design development test validation and maintenance.
You will support research and development activities and/or programs of record.
You will work with a talented team of engineers architects and leaders in an Agile environment.
Apply experience to plan for and execute the porting of an operational system to a new platform operating system and computing language.
What You Will Learn:
Agile methodology and a tool set that supports this.
Modern Development Security and Operation (DevSecOps) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery techniques.
TestDriven MultiDisciplined Capability (TDMC) Product Development methodology.
A variety of domains such as battle management command & control communications radar missile and/or modeling & simulation
Work across engineering disciplines to develop complex problems in support of defense systems.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degreein Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and aminimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibitedby local laws/regulations.
Experience with programming and or maintenance of virtual memory system (e.g. VAX VMS OpenVMS) operating systems.
Experience with developing testing objectoriented software using a modern software language (e.g. C C FORTRAN).
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience with computer simulation clientserver architectures advanced networking techniques and protocols data bases (flatfile relational and objectoriented) highorder programming languages and operating systems (e.g. UNIX VAX/VMS)
Experience working closely and directly within a team environment.
Experience in design and development of advanced networking techniques and protocols data base management systems and programming in high order languages (e.g. C C FORTRAN).
