Overview
Certified Nursing Assistant
Community Memorial Hospital

The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting patients with activities of daily living administering direct patient care assisting in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment and performing any other duties deemed necessary to ensure quality patient care under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing dressing grooming toileting and eating
- Provide direct patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse (RN)
- Support patients with mobility and transferring including turning repositioning and ambulation
- Monitor and report changes in patients condition to the nursing staff
- Maintain a clean safe and organized patient environment
- Ensure patient comfort and respond promptly to call lights and requests
- Follow infection control and safety protocols at all times
- Document care provided and observations accurately and timely
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to support overall patient care goals
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the RN to support quality patient care
Qualifications
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Ability to read write and understand English
- Possess strong organizational and communication skills
- Possess strong computer knowledge and phone skills
- Responsible Selfmotivator with a strong work ethic
- Must have a current CNA certificate
- Must be on the Iowa Nurse Aide Registry
