About the role:
Thiess are seeking a Mining Engineer to join the team on an 8/6 roster FIFO out of Perth. Mt Hollandlithium project is located 110km southeast of Southern Cross in the Wheatbelt region. The role of the Mining Engineer is to provide the project with accurate and timely medium and short term mine planning systems and processes to enable the business to meet its contractual production targets in a cost effective manner and seek opportunities to improve overall project performance.
About You:
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering
- 3 years in a technical discipline at an open pit mining environment
- Sound understanding of mine operation planning and scheduling
- Thorough understanding of open cut mining methods
- Strong understanding of the costs associated with mine planning and drill & blast activities
- Ability to implement mining processes and systems in a brown or green field site
- Strong mining software experience (Vulcan Surpac Datamine Minesight etc) as well as the Microsoft office suite.
- Able to demonstrate effective performance in achieving agreed HSE goals in support of the department site and company standards
- Welldeveloped analytical verbal and written communication skills
- Good time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines and shifting priorities
