About the Opportunity
Required: High school diploma plus two years technical college
Preferred: Trade school certification for a toolmaker or machinist program
Combination of experience and education will be considered. Minimum of 5 years hands on experience in a Model shop/Experimental machining environment.
Must be flexible to changing requirements of the job and be able to interact with University faculty staff students and coworkers
Job Requirements
Possess superior machining skills to be able to fabricate fixtures and components to close tolerances from drawings sketches or verbal instruction
Minimum five years experience with Bridgeport Milling machines Harding Tool Room lathe Horizontal / Vertical band saw Surface grinding and associated feeds and speeds
Minimum five years experience with CNC milling and lathe setup and operation and the related software. Prototrak milling and lathe experience is a plus
Minimum three years experience with Solidworks CAD software and/or Camworks software programs is a plus
Must possess personal basic machine shop tools to be used at work on a daily basis.
Basic experience with soldering and brazing a variety of metals
Must be a self starter and work with minimum supervision
This position would often handle loads up to 50 pounds as well as lifting carrying pushing or pulling
This position involves making repetitive motions and standing for long periods of time
The candidate must be able to work with and support a diverse and inclusive campus environment

$28.57 $40.35With the pay range(s) shown above the starting salary will depend on several factors which may include your education experience location knowledge and expertise and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarlysituated employees already in the role.
