Austin Bridge & Road has an outstanding opportunity for a Night Shift Civil Engineer for a large project in Farmers Branch TX. The Civil Engineer is on the Project Manager careertrack and assists the Project Manager and Project Administrator in a variety of engineering functions identified as procurement and expediting of construction materials.
Responsibilities:
- Procurement of materials
- Detailed estimation of costs on proposed changes
- Update of contract plans and master schedules
- Overall responsibility of submittals
- Responsible for tracking materials project coordination and safety
- Analyze review and update job cost information
- Process change orders as required by project owners
- Manage subcontractors
- Requests for information responses from owners and subcontractors
- Assists in the compilation of closeout documents including drawings guarantees warranties and service manuals for delivery to the owner
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management or equivalent preferred but may be substituted by experience.
- Experience with demolition earthwork concrete paving setting temporary concrete barrier etc. a plus
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus
- Must be highly organized with an attention to detail
- Be an effective communicator with strong customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fastpaced team environment and meet deadlines
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED or higher
- Valid drivers license
- 5 years of experience in earthwork paving etc. TxDOT highway work required
- Requires working outdoors at times in the rain or snow and during cold warm and hot temperatures
- Must be able to work one of two shifts:
- Open to swing shift (noon to midnight)
- Night shift 6pm 5am)
- Must be able to work on call as needed
- Project will entertain rotation from days to nights every few months or similar if needed
