Job Type: Supply Contract
Location: All Compass ELC School Age and Center Based Programs.
CELC Programs are located within the following Regions and Cities in Ontario:
City and County of Peterborough Peterborough Ennismore Millbrook Apsley Keene Douro Warsaw
Durham and Clarington Region Orono Hampton Courtice Bowmanville
City of Kawartha Lakes Bethany Lindsay Woodville Fenelon
Northumberland Cobourg Campbellford
Haliburton Minden
Hours: 0 to 40 hours per week. Hours are based on program need and availability.

About the role:
At Compass ELC you will work as a Supply Educator alongside some of the most passionate caring and dedicated educators in the industry. You will spend your time engaging connecting and learning alongside children families community partners and coworkers. You are passionate about early learning and care emergent curriculum and lifelong learning. You are energetic resourceful and creative in your pursuits of creating learning opportunities building connections and engaging with children and families.
As a supply educator you will use our registry system Smart Find Express to pick up shifts at any of our 42 Licensed Child Care Programs. Supply Educators are required to work a minimum of 2 shifts per month to stay will be based on the needs and funding of the program. Our programs hours are between 6:30 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday.
Some accountabilities associated with the role include:
- Has the flexibility to work within a fluctuating schedule.
- Plan lead and guide interestbased experiences throughout the day surrounding childrens interests.
- Observing and documenting childrens learning.
- Building relationships with families and including them in the learning process.
- Working as part of a team with Coworkers Families Community Partners and Children.
- Ensuring the safety of staff and children by learning and acknowledging all childrens diverse needs backgrounds and creating equitable opportunities for all children to engage.
- Demonstrating respect for spaces by ensuring the safety and cleanliness of all equipment furniture and materials.
- Engaging in play with children.
- Actively being engaged in the supervision of children.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Is familiar with the Child Care Early Years Act and licensing standards in a childcare program.
- Has experience working/volunteering with children and youth.
- Possesses the training and documents required by the Ministry of Education Compass Early Learning and Care and the Child Care Early Years Act to work in a childcare setting:
- Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
- Updated immunization records (Or a signed and notarized refusal of affidavit or medical exemption).
- Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators or has a postsecondary degree in a similar field (i.e. Child and Youth Care Recreation and Leisure Bachelor of Education etc.
