Job Description
OceanaGold are seeking a suitably qualified and motivated Mechanical Technician (Fixed Plant Process) who is responsible for the mechanical maintenance repair testing and monitoring of machineries and equipment to ensure its availability and reliability in a quality efficient safe and environment friendly manner. The role will report to the Supervisor Mechanical.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks and troubleshooting;
- Conduct equipment repairs and refurbishment;
- Service hydraulic and pneumatic equipment;
- Follow agreed workshop procedures and update timesheets correctly;
- Document equipment maintenance thru work orders and PRONTO;
- Suggests ways to prevent future equipment malfunction or improve equipment performance or safety;
- Perform tool keeping duties and takes accountability on issued and toolroom tools and equipment to ensure they are kept tidy safe to use and complete;
- Manage and reports team activities on nightshifts;
- Perform cutting fabricating and joining methods for repair modifications or project works;
- Participate in project works and equipment commissioning;
- Prepares equipment and area to be moved or removed;
- Install equipment safely and precisely; and
- Test equipment to ensure proper function.
Qualifications :
- Behaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold Way;
- High School Graduate or with Mechanical Trade or Vocational Diploma;
- Minimum of five 5 years work experience gained from Mining Cement Power and other Heavy industry;
- TESDA Certified and true competent Welder and fabricator;
- Highly skilled in hydraulics systems can interpret hydraulic diagrams and troubleshoot;
- Highly skilled in big motor gearbox coupling alignment can use laser alignment tool;
- Certified Plant Mechanic (CPM) or TESDA Plant Mechanic NCII Certification is an advantage;
- With valid Professional Drivers License;
- Mobile Equipment operation and license is an advantage;
- With ability to work with multicultural teams;
- Display good housekeeping skills possess a high degree of Environmental and Safety awareness; and
- Flexible and professional approach to duties
