Job Description
Specialization: Stem cells and organoids cell therapy animal models in retinal degenerative diseases
Supervisors: Dr. Miguel Zapata
Research topic: Retinal organoids as a tool for developing cell therapies to treat retinal degenerative diseases.
We are seeking a talented and motivated senior postdoc to join a research team headed by Dr. Josep Garca Arum and Dr. Miguel Zapata at the Vall dHebron Research Institute (VHIR)
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- PhD in Life Sciences (Biological Sciences Biomedical Sciences) with more than 10 years of experience
- Animal Experimentation Certificate
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Communication skills and fluency in written and spoken English
- Experience with small laboratory animals
- Experience in stem cells and organoids
- Experience in molecular and cellular biology techniques
- Expertise in ophthalmology
Desired:
- Good computer skills basic knowledge of bioinformatics and statistical analysis
- Teamwork and proactivity with the ability to work independently when necessary
- Wellorganized and responsible in the workplace
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Responsible for managing human stem cells and organoid system models
- Development of cell therapies performing animal surgeries and conducting in vivo monitoring
- Experience working with laboratory animals
Labour conditions:
- Full time position: 40h/week
- Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale Contract length: 1.5 years
- Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
