Job Description
THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY OF $26.23 PER HOUR.
The Administration for Childrens Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and wellbeing of New York Citys children and families by providing child welfare juvenile justice and early care services. ACS manages and funds services including detention and placement intensive communitybased alternatives for youth and support services for families.
ACS Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides innovative IT solutions that effectively address the agencys business and operational requirements. As a central facilitator OIT plays a crucial role in implementing and ensuring compliance with both city and state IT and security policies and procedures. By doing so it ensures the seamless integration of technology across the organization while maintaining adherence to regulatory guidelines and best practices. OIT is looking for a motivated and detailoriented Java Developer Graduate Intern to join our Business Solutions Unit.
As a Java Developer Graduate Intern you will gain handson experience in application development and design cloudbased solutions data integration and DevOps. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with the Business Solutions Unit which plays a pivotal role in building enhancing and supporting the 76 inhouse applications critical to ACS operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Application Development and Design: Help with the development of applications and Application Programming Interfaces (API)/Microservices using Java Oracle Weblogic Angular Tomcat DevSecOps and associated tools adhering to various SDLC methodologies such as Hybrid Agile
CloudBased Solutions: Help design and deploy applications utilizing cloudbased tools like Azure Kubernetes with Structured Query Language (SQL) Server/Oracle backends
Data Integration: Develop and execute data integrations and feeds from Oracle and SQL Server databases using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) Extract Transform and Load (ETL) integrations and APIs
DevOps: Manage source code using version control systems such as Git and develop validate and deploy code using DevOps pipeline
Learning Outcomes:
Gain comprehensive knowledge of IT application development process and overall IT operations in a government setting
Enhance abilities in coordinating and executing organizational tasks in a professional setting

Qualifications :
