Job Description
Checkout is actively looking for a driven and agile Data Senior Associate Finance IT Risk and Controls to join our growing Finance team.
As we continue to grow and scale were looking for an expert Data Management Professional to join our Finance Risk and Controls team. As the business continues to scale this role will be instrumental to our in strengthening our internal control environment monitoring and reporting.
The ideal candidate will be a dedicated laserfocused and highly organised individual not shying away from high volume of work or complex challenges. Were looking for a standout colleague contributing individually and collaboratively towards shared goals.
How youll make an impact
- You will develop a broad domain and technical understanding of our automated and technology dependent control implementations that help record maintain and report on customer data related to financial reporting.
- Support activities to assess completeness accuracy and timeliness of data flows and associated controls which cover the flow of information from upstream product services down to financial reporting.
- Perform testing across key automated or IT dependent business process controls including assessing the integrity of identified IUCs (Information Used in Control).
- Work closely with Finance and IT teams to help guide and deliver on control design improvements. Partner with your lead and stakeholders in Technology to ensure controls are designed to ensure future operational effectiveness.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to support IT control testing and data testing (i.e. Power BI or Alteryx) providing necessary documentation and addressing audit findings promptly.
- Support to develop and present reports on the status of relevant controls to senior management highlighting key metrics control failures and remediation actions.
- Keep on track of Finance Risk and Control findings and also monitor the progress for internal and external audit actions to ensure theyre completed on time and actions are adequate to mitigate the risks identified.
Qualifications :
What were looking for
- 5 years experience in audit or assurance engagements with a focus on automated IT dependent or data controls.
- Experience within Financial services or organisations dealing with high volume transactions is a distinctive advantage.
- Strong experience in SQL and Python to test existing controls and build automated testing solutions.
- An understanding of the value of taking a balanced approach to risk and controls to support the growth of the business.
- Ability to work well in a multinational team environment and know how to have an impact through others.
- Eagerness to learn and develop your knowledge of how a Fintech and fast growing scaleup operates.
