Job Description

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Pipeline and School Partnership Programs the Program Manager will oversee programming and ensure Saturday Science Academy II (SSAII) and Community STEMM Academy (CSTEMM) and all corresponding programs develop comprehensive curriculum and increase student participation. The position will provide support to Directors and Principal Investigators as related to research projects pipeline initiatives and activities for students in grades PreK 12.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daytoday operations of Saturday Science Academy II (SSA II) and Community STEMM Academy (CSTEMM) ensuring effective of programmatic activities.
  • Design and implement surveys to obtain programmatic demographic and outcome data. Analyze feedback and report findings to Executive and Associate Directors for continuous program improvement.
  • Lead curriculum development initiatives with the Curriculum Development Specialist to ensure effective implementation of the curriculum.
  • Track data for SSA II and CSTEMM programs using Excel or Salesforce.
  • Strategize the deployment of data collecting and ensure records and data are wellkept and strong reporting practices are in place.
  • Monitor students progress within SSAII and CSTEMM as they transition into grade school and college.
  • Interface with Prek12 grade students and promote SSA II CSTEMM and other pipeline programs within the community to drive participation.
  • Oversee the student applications and registration by reviewing the academic needs of students to successfully enroll at CDU.
  • Assess the needs of the programs hiring all educators for SSA II and CSTEMM while evaluating and refining program structures to better align with the mission and vision of CDU.
  • Report quarterly on the progress of shared goals and outcomes and communicate feedback from students and partners to the Executive and Associate Director recommending program improvements based on insights gained.
  • Facilitate STEMM Instructor screening interviews onboarding and training with the help of the Program Coordinator.
  • Develop strategic recruitment initiatives and student retention strategies for SSA II and CSTEMM.
  • Assist students in conducting research projects as SSA II develops into a twotier program.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels for each instructional session and community event including teachers support staff and volunteers.
  • Conduct workshops and presentations for community members potential students and funders.
  • Facilitate and coordinate speakers partnerships conferences events and activities that directly enrich program offerings for SSAII CSTEMM and other Pipeline Programs.
  • Form strong collaboration with the students and mentors including signing written agreements that outline the program parameters and expectations.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure that all facilities are appropriate and conducive for pipeline program students.
  • Develop program material for website promotion dissemination of program resources and information.
  • Seek out opportunities and resources to prepare high school students participating in SSAII for college. This may include but is not limited to field trips workshops and professional development activities.
  • Manage application system and other systems utilized by pipeline program administrators.
  • Facilitate pipeline activities including parent orientation Saturday events and offcampus field trips.
  • Foster maintain and act as a liaison with staff vendors school administrators stakeholders partners students parents teachers and CBO.
  • Manage grant deliverables expenditures and program budgets ensuring that budget allocations are not overspent.

Salary: $75000 $80000

Qualifications/Requirements:

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited college or university (STEMM degree a plus) with a minimum of two years of experience in managing a youth program
  • A Masters degree in Education or related field is preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 4 years of facilitating youth programming with experience working with families schools and communities from diverse cultural ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds or program development/management
  • Experience coaching/managing/evaluating programs parttime employees and volunteers
  • Previous experience and commitment to work with diverse cultural communities
  • Prior experience with grant writing and budget development
  • Previous supervisor experience managing a team of 4 or more
  • Fiscally savvy developing the budget and managing with financial integrity

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Valid CA Drivers License and vehicle for workrelated transportation
  • PMP or CAPM certification or equivalent experience is a plus
  • CPR/First Aid Certification

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITY/SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of NGSS and Common Core
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to meet deadlines and get things done
  • A demonstrated passion for inspiring children to learn
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule inspired by programming needs
  • Must be able to lift and move boxes of books and supplies (up to 30 pounds each) and transport supplies in and out of vehicles storage areas or classrooms
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong relationshipbuilding skills with a diverse range of stakeholders including youth community members and funders
  • High level of professionalism and articulation
  • Resourceful selfmotivated flexible and able to work in a startup office environment
  • Ability to work on multiple projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint
  • Bilingual a plus

TRAVEL:

  • Up to 35
  • Must possess a valid California drivers license.
