Position Overview:
Note: Adjunct positions at UCO are parttime teaching positions. This posting is to create a pool of interested applicants from which the Department may draw as sections become open at any point in the current academic year. This posting may or may not result in the hiring of adjuncts. Adjunct Faculty provides a quality learning experience for students on a semester basis. Adjunct faculty reports to a dean or chair and performs instructionrelated duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission policies and procedures of the college. The relationship of the adjunct faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning.
College/Department Overview:
The College of Education and Professional Studies currently has 100 fulltime and over 100 parttime faculty organized in seven departments. The college offers 23 undergraduate majors and 28 graduate majors. All teacher education programs are CAEP accredited. Other programs are recognized at the state and national levels with accreditations by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) the American Dietetic Association (ADA) the American SpeechLanguage Hearing Association (ASHA) the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) and the Oklahoma Educational Quality and Accountability Commission (OEQA). Department Specific Essential Job Functions:
Teaching introductory and graduate courses in School Counseling program.
Experience Required:
Possesses at least a masters degree in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval). Possesses excellent communication problemsolving and organizational skills.
Experience Preferred:
Masters or Doctorate degree in School Counseling or related field.
Previous experience in School Counseling or related field.
Higher education teaching experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to provide a quality learning experience for students. Adjunct positions at UCO are parttime inclassroom teaching positions on a semester by semester basis.
Physical Demands:
Repetitive movement of hands and fingers typing and/or writing. Frequent standing and/or sitting. Occasional walking stooping kneeling or crouching. Reach with hands and arms. Visually identify observe and assess. Ability to communicate with supervisor/students/colleagues. Regular physical attendance required.
