Description

The County of Yolo Assessor/ClerkRecorder/Elections Department is recruiting to fill two 2 regular fulltime positions in the Appraiser class series. The candidates selected will be assigned to the Appraiser I or II level depending on their background and experience and at the discretion of the hiring authority. The combined salary range for the Appraiser I II is $63794 $85925 annually.

The Position
Depending on the level of position placement a selected candidate will perform entry level or higher duties. Incumbents learn and/or performoffice and field duties involved in the appraisal of real or personal property for ad valorum tax purposeswith appropriate levels of supervision.Additionally incumbents will learn and/or utilizespecialized knowledge of: appraisal methodology as it relates to valuing property for property tax purposes the Revenue and Taxation Codes and the Countys Automated Property Tax System (Megabyte) and other applicable computer technology.


The ideal candidate for this position will behighly motivatedand a reliable team player with strong work ethic interpersonal skills and organizational/ timemanagement skills.

APPRAISER II
Education:Bachelors Degree in Accounting Business Administration Economics Engineering or a closely related field;
AND
AND
License:Positions in this classification require incumbents to possess and maintain a valid California drivers license Class C or higher to carry out job related duties. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a physical or mental disability may request a reasonable accommodation.

AND
Appraisers Certificate:
Possession of a valid Appraisers Certificate issued by the California State Board of Equalization;

Acceptable forms of educational documentation are official/unofficial transcripts or copy of diploma that list the students name institution name field of study and date the degree was awarded. For recent graduates who have not received proof of their degree a letter from the registrars office statingthat all requirements including thefield of study forgraduation have been metwillbe sufficient proof of education.

  1. A written statement from a U.S accredited university or college that states that the applicant is qualified for entrance to a program of graduate studies for which a degree in a related field is required.
  2. An evaluation of the applicants degree and coursework equivalency by a private organization that provides foreign credential evaluation services. The evaluation must include a comparison of comparable U.S. courses for content credit and grade.
