Job Description
The University of Chicagos Department of Pediatrics Section of Emergency Medicine in the Biological Sciences Division is searching for fulltime faculty members at any rank. Appointees will serve as Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physicians in our Pediatric Level I Traumaaccredited emergency room at The University of Chicago Comer Childrens Hospital. In addition they will develop an academic niche that builds on our faculty expertise in medical education simulation quality improvement health equity and bioethics research health outcomes disaster preparedness child abuse trauma or other areas that relate to the mission of the Department of Pediatrics and Comer Childrens Hospital. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.
The University of Chicago cares for manychildren adolescents and young adults with cancer and nonmalignant blood diseases as part of the is provided at Comer Childrens Hospital our outpatient clinic in Hyde Park and at CCHA satellite clinics across the Chicagoland region.
The University of Chicago Medicine has been at the forefront of medical care since 1927. Located in historic Hyde Park the primary medical campus includes the Center for Care and Discovery Comer Childrens Hospital Bernard A. Mitchell Hospital for adult inpatient care and the Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine (DCAM) totaling more than 550 beds in service and net patient care revenues over $1.4 ambulatory facilities are located in Orland Park and the South Loop and the Ingalls Health System has recently integrated into the network.
Prior to the start of employment qualified applicants must: 1 have a medical doctorate or equivalent 2 hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois and 3 be Board certified or Board eligible in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
We especially welcome applicants with experience in Level I trauma medical education simulation and health outcomes research.
