Director Financial Planning & Analysis

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity for a senior finance leader to apply commercial expertise in a complex forpurpose organisation. Reporting to the CFO within the Operations Portfolio as the Director Financial Planning & Analysis you will lead financial planning budgeting and business partnering to support strategic planning and operational decision making across the university.

You will partner with the University Executive and governance leaders to ensure financial sustainability operational efficiency and strategic growth. This role will appeal to leaders who thrive on influencing key decisionmakers leading highperforming teams and driving financial strategy at scale.

Key Priorities

  • Lead financial planning and analysis ensuring resource allocation aligns with RMITs longterm vision.

  • Deliver commercial insights that enable strategic decisionmaking for major universitywide initiatives.

  • Strengthen business partnering capabilities engaging with key leaders to drive financial accountability and performance.

  • Shape and implement RMITs investment strategy balancing financial sustainability with future growth.

  • Lead a highperforming finance team fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

About You

You are a senior finance leader with extensive experience in financial planning strategy and business partnering in a complex multistakeholder environment. You bring:

  • Proven success in leading financial strategy and investment planning.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills with the ability to work at executive and board level.

  • A commercial mindset with the ability to apply privatesector best practices to a forpurpose organisation.

  • Experience leading highperforming teams and fostering a culture of financial excellence.

  • A commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in financial decisionmaking.

About the Operations Portfolio

The Operations Portfolio enables an integrated enterprisewide delivery for best practice student and staff experiences.

The portfolio incorporates the following functions: Data & Analytics (D&A) Finance Information and Technology Services (ITS) Governance Legal and Strategic Operations (GLSO) Office of the Chief Operating Officer (OCOO) People function and Property Services Group (PSG).

The portfolio houses significant drivers and delivery components across the staff and student journeys and enables the overall experience for both groups. The Portfolio is integral in bringing the RMIT Knowledge with Action Strategy to life. Each of these functions supports the global operations of the University both directly as well as through its controlled entities.
