Job Description:

The University of Florida invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor of Student Personnel in Higher Education (SPHE) position. This nontenure track position will be responsible for dynamic teaching and effective leadership of the oncampus Student Personnel in Higher Education (SPHE) masters program.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and grow the oncampus SPHE masters program including advising students recruitment and curriculum planning
  • Collaborate with the Division of Student Life and other campus and regional partners to create robust graduate assistantships and internships for linking theory and practice
  • Teach facetoface and/or online classes at the masters level and potentially at the doctoral level as appropriate (Assigned courses will be tailored to the skills of the applicant)
  • Advise practitioneroriented doctoral students and serve on Higher Education Administration Ed.D. committees

This 12month nontenure accruing faculty appointment will begin Fall 2025 and is based at the Gainesville FL campus. The positions primary assignment is teaching across fall spring and summer terms and coordinating the masters program.

Expected Salary:

Salary is negotiable competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Earned doctorate in higher education administration student affairs or closely related field awarded by August 15 2025.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional experience in higher education administration ideally related to program coordination implementation and assessment
  • Demonstrated ability and/or interest to teach and mentor graduate students
  • Active involvement in professional organizations
  • Experience advising/mentoring students and developing meaningful experiences to guide student career and professional development
  • Previous graduate level teaching experience in courses related to the following areas: student subpopulations and environments; student development theory; and student affairs internship and practicum
  • Evidence of scholarly engagement in the field of student affairs and/or higher education administration (e.g. conference presentations webinars publications)
