Job Description
The Senior Cloud Engineermust be able to meet the key criteria below:
Location: 100 remote
Years Experience: 7 years development experience
Education: Bachelor degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or IT related field
Security Clearance: IBR is a federal contractor. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain up to a TopSecretsecurity clearance.
- NOTE: United States Citizenship is required as part of the eligibility criteria to be able to obtain this type of security clearance.

Key Skills:
- Proven handson experience designing installing configuring operating and monitoring CI/CD pipeline tools specifically GitLab Ultimate Docker Terraform Kubernetes CloudWatch AWS and Ansible
- Strong knowledge of Linux (RHEL preferred) and scripting tools such as Python Bash PowerShell
- Indepth knowledge of AWS managed services automation and orchestration.
- Experience with cybersecurity requirements such as securebydesign and zerotrust architecture
- Current AWS certification is required.
- Must currently have or be willing to obtain a CompTIA Security certification.
Position Overview
As a Senior Cloud Engineer at IBR you will support the Agilebased engineering of robust secure and scalable enterprise solutions supporting over one million users hosted in AWS. You will work with multiple teams to plan design deploy and sustain systems in AWS GovCloud. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS cloud services handson experience with infrastructureascode and deep knowledge of cloud security best practices.
This role requires extensive handson experience. Candidates need to showcase experience where they have provided firsthand support to AWS and CI/CD deployment environments that show increasing levels of complexity.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a mentor to junior Cloud and DevOps engineers. Provide technical guidance to application teams to use cloud technologies and implement cloud infrastructure as needed.
- Serve as a design engineer for future
- Supports the planning design and implementation of AWS application cloud architectures.
- Plan develop and deploy infrastructureascode using Terraform and Ansible tools.
- Ensures compliance with security requirements by implementing and managing security controls and policies within the cloud environment.
- Work with architecture DevOps Ops and application teams to support documentation of application internal/external interface requirements for Development Testing Staging and Production environments
- Work with application teams to ensure compliance with High Availability and Disaster Recovery plans
- Implements middleware applicationspecific requirements as needed
- Implements migration efforts with application teams including data migration.
Qualifications
- 7 years of experience planning building and supporting AWS Cloud and DevOps environment with increasing complexity
- Must be able to obtain and maintain up to a TopSecret security clearance
- Bachelor Degree in IT related field required
- Extensive Experience designing and building web application environments on AWS including services such as Lambda ELB ECS EKS WAFv2 Route53 AWS AppStream AWS Workspaces etc.
- Extensive experience with CI/CD frameworks (i.e. Kubernetes Terraform Jenkins Docker Ansible Chef Puppet)
- Extensive experience in automation and scripting tools (i.e. Bash Python Shell Perl)
- Extensive experience in deploying cloud resources using IaC tools specifically Kubernetes Terraform and Ansible
- Extensive experience with application and system performance monitoring and logging tools like Cloud Watch App Dynamics and Splunk. Create CloudWatch rules to capture the app alerts and send notifications
- Experience with automating workflows through GitLab Ultimate Ansible and Lambda
- Experience in designing and building of CIFS and NFS onpremises File share migration using AWS Datasync and VPC endpoints to AWS storage services S3 EFS or FSx.
- Experience in creating build plans for AWS deployment by listing out compute resources Security groups LB target group NACL and all other components for various environments (Dev TQA and Prod etc.
- Experience determining and implementing middleware requirements as a bonus
- Familiar with RDS databases (Oracle SQL and/or Postgres)
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While this position primarily involves sedentary work in an office environment and/or homeoffice environment there are some physical demands associated with the role including:
- Extended periods of sitting and working at a computer workstation.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of equipment or materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Occasional travel to client sites or meetings may be required.
- Work may need to be performed in a fastpaced environment requiring quick thinking and rapid judgements.
- Additionally flexible work arrangements may be available based on business needs.
- Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of clients in differing functions personalities and abilities.
