Job Description
Reporting to the Director Finance the Senior Financial Analyst will work cross functionally across business valuations and financial planning & analysis (FP&A). To support these functions the Senior Financial Analyst will assist with financial modelling forecasting and budgeting and provide insights to support strategic initiatives. In addition the Senior Financial Analyst will work on other projects for internal stakeholders and will collaborate with our financial reporting group.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and review process of BEPs private fund asset valuations including detailed DCF valuation models market research and presentation materials;
Support BEPs business planning process by maintaining updating and building upon BEPs corporate model to support strategic decisionmaking;
Review and challenge business plans and valuation models prepared by regional platforms;
Analyze historical results perform comprehensive budget vs. actual variance analyses and identify meaningful business drivers to support ongoing growth and performance benchmarking
Perform discounted cash flow sensitivity and analysis for strategic initiatives;
Support quarterly and yearend financial reporting of key operating metrics for management financial forecasting & reporting purposes;
Assist with ad hoc analyses for different stakeholders including investors rating agencies sellside equity and senior management;
Work collaboratively with other Brookfield groups to improve and streamline processes including systematizing process to drive efficiency and increase productivity.
Requirements:
Quick learner and ability to build a rapid understanding of the business and business drivers;
Solid analytical skills with strong attention to details;
Wellorganized and ability to synthesize and conceptualize complex ideas and translate them into financial models and analyses;
Ability to think independently and be proactive in utilizing internal and external resources to provide meaningful and insightful analyses;
Ability to locate and collect data from appropriate sources and analyze it to prepare meaningful and concise reports that summarize the information;
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work with and build relationships with a diverse group at all levels of the organization;
Ability to work in a team setting; collaborates with team members across the organization;
Ability to direct and provide guidance to more junior employees in their daily responsibilities including supervising and thoroughly vetting financial model & variance analysis construction.
Qualifications:
Hold a recognized professional designation (CPA CFA CBV etc.;
3 or more years of relevant experience;
Strong working knowledge of financial and accounting concepts (IFRS GAAP) and financial analysis principles & practice;
Demonstrated interest in working with investments through previous work experience extracurricular or other personal experiences;
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (financial modelling) and MS PowerPoint (presentations;
Experience working in financial planning & analysis business valuations financial due diligence and / or any financial modelling role a strong asset;
Experience with Bloomberg CapitalIQ OneStream and other finance systems an asset.
